The Saskatoon Nature Society brings together those interested in the natural world. Our objective is to promote the appreciation of nature and encourage a deeper knowledge of it through observation and sharing of experience. Our society supports nature conservation projects and is an active advocate for the preservation of plant and animal habitats.

NatureCity Festival

Saskatoon Nature Society is organizing a variety of field trips and events during the NatureCity Festival in Saskatoon, May 23 - 28, 2017. Check out interesting workshops such as "Birdwatching for Beginners".

Our nature-related column Nature Notes now appears in the Saskatoon Express. Print copies are delivered in parts of the city and can also be picked up free at over 100 locations around the city. The lastest article is by Lorne Duczek: Dragonflies won't bite us, but do eat mosquitoes.

Reports from the Saskatoon Area Christmas Bird Counts and Spring Bird Counts can be seen by following relevant links to individual reports from the count reports page (latest report: September 2016). The Resource page contains a list of useful plant and animal checklists of interest to a naturalist.

Kids in Nature - a grant program valued at $2,000 to strengthen the existing programs and encourage new initiatives that connect youth in the Saskatoon area with nature.
