The Saskatoon Nature Society is affiliated with the provincial society, Nature Saskatchewan, but membership is separate and the fee schedule is different. Renewing your provincial membership through SNS earns us a $2 commission. Nature Saskatchewan is a strong advocate for conservation and education in the province. Benefits of membership include the quarterly journal Blue Jay, the quarterly newsletter Nature Views and spring and fall meets at various locations in the province.

Donations to the Society

When people make donations to Saskatoon Nature Society, they have a choice of three options.

The Nature Capital Fund holds money designated for permanent capital expenditures such as the nature centre that members have dreamed of building. The Nature Education and Conservation Fund is intended to support nature education and conservation projects. Donations can also be directed to the General Fund, which is our basic operating fund.

We can use money from the General Fund for whatever the board decides is appropriate, while the other two are restricted and must be used for their stated purpose. Over the past few years the SNS board has been paying particular attention to providing financial support for projects we consider worthy and appropriate. Members who choose to donate money to SNS not only receive a charitable receipt for tax purposes, but also can have the satisfaction of knowing they are supporting good work that will promote the appreciation of nature and encourage a deeper knowledge of it.

Donate Now Through CanadaHelps.org!

Donations through Canada Helps are processed through a secure server (please note that link will open in a new window). CanadaHelps is a public foundation and registered charity - Charitable Business Registration No. 896568417RR0001 - and will issue official taxt receipts.

You will receive an e-receipt within minutes of the donation, which you can save and print out at any time. Please note that the Canada Revenue Agency (CRA) has approved the use of secure PDF e-receipts for tax purposes. Each receipt will clearly indicate that you made a donation to the SNS. If you prefer, you can also set up regular monthly donations.

Anonymous donations are accepted through CanadaHelps - we will not receive any personal information about you as a donor, but will have a record of a donation being made. A tax receipt will be sent to you, same as with the standard donation.

CanadaHelps will not sell or trade donor information. For more information about donor privacy, please read their privacy statement here: www.canadahelps.org/InfoPages/PrivacyHome.aspx
